17% of adults aged 60 and older are employed/still working. When we look at the data by age, we see that adults aged 60-64 and 65-74 have significantly higher percentages of aging adults working compared to the 75 and older age group.

Reasons for Working

Generally, adults aged 60 and older who are still working are doing so because they enjoy working, they need to cover living expenses, or they don’t yet qualify for retirement.
