The spread of COVID-19 is not only affecting us globally but also here in Forsyth County. We here at Age Friendly Forsyth understand the uncertainty aging adults and caregivers are currently facing.

To help you during this process, we have compiled a list of responses from our Leadership Team about services local organizations are offering during the pandemic. The services listed provide assistance directly or indirectly to aging adults and caregivers. We hope that you find this information useful.

Financial Pathways of the Piedmont

Forsyth County Department of Social Services

Department of Social Services Adult Services 

Work First – Applicants for Work First benefits can call for information on how to apply for benefits. Please call 336-703-3410

Work First Employment Services – Please call your Social Worker for instructions as to how to proceed with follow-up appointments. For general information, please call 336-703-3410.

Emergency Assistance – We currently have funds available for utility assistance; however, we no longer have funds for rental assistance. Please note you may access other community resources as well through the 211 system. For general information, please call 336-703-3410.

Food and Nutrition Services Employment and Training Program – Please phone your Social Worker for questions and assistance. For general information, please call 336-703-3410.

Employment Services/Employment Lab – Our Employment Lab is closed to the public at this time.

Adult Protective Services – To report instances of abuse, neglect or exploitation of adults 18 years of age and older, please call 336-703-3503. While we typically can accept these reports in person, we encourage that you call the referenced number.

Adult Guardianship Services – For Persons Under Guardianship and family members, please call your Social Worker for assistance. For general information or to receive services, please call 336-703-3501. Because of limited onsite staff,  face to face appointments must be scheduled. 

Adult In-Home Services – For assistance with In-Home Services, please call 336-703-3501 for assistance. Because of limited onsite staff,  face to face appointments must be scheduled.  

Adult In-Home Aid (Waiting List) – Please call 336-703-3501 for assistance with being placed on the Waiting List for In-Home Aide Services. Because of limited onsite staff,  face to face appointments must be scheduled. 

Assisted Living Services – Please call 336-703-3501 to make any complaints regarding Assisted Living Facilities.
